Everything You Need to Check Off before your Mobile App Hits the App Store

Thousands of apps are launched every month. To make sure that your product makes the cut to the most popular app out there, and is saved by millions on their phones next to TikTok and Facebook, we came up with a checklist that will set the foundation for an exemplary mobile application. 

Do the Research 

Sure you have an idea but have you checked if anyone has already executed it? You also want to see of the features you are offering in your app make it an MVP in the market. Otherwise, the entire journey would be for nothing. 

Before you even establish the startup and start hiring candidates to fill the seats, you want to see what your competition is doing. Have they missed opportunities you can cease? What are they doing that is working for your target market, and what is not.

By doing a primary research on the happenings of the particular industry you aim to enter, you will be able to draft a business strategy for your startup as well as the workings of your app’s prototype. This may also give an indication to your solution for the best way to monetize your app. 

Monetization Strategy

You cannot just decide if you are going to offer free downloads or display ads everywhere, just off the bat. You have to have focus groups that tell you what your target demographic will more likely adopt. 

You can also determine this by asking yourself how much the competition is selling their subscription for, and what you offer in comparison. Do you have anything that would be considered an upgrade or a premium option from what is already available in the market?

Optimize the App

At the end of the day whatever genius product you have created it has to be visible on the app store. For that to happen you have to optimize it as such. The App Store and the Play Store have a lot of matching factors that boost your app. 

You can improve the chances of your app by using the right keywords in the description section. Make sure that you are using screenshots from the app to give an idea of the UI to potential users. Make sure you post good reviews as well. 

With stunning visuals and positive reviews, people who are simply browsing will be compelled to download your app over your competitors. 

Create a Landing Page

Your app will need an online portal via which you can make announcements. Talk about your brand, the impressive features in your product, and leave a CTA that helps you amass your email marketing list. When the app finally launches you can add a download button as well. 

The landing page is also handy in helping users find the appropriate channel should they need assistance and support. 

When the development phase is over and the app has been proofed against bugs, you should be dedicating your efforts towards creating hype and awareness regarding your mobile app.
